DAKAR » PRICE MAINTAINS OVERALL, SVITKO TAKES MAIDEN DAKAR STAGE WIN

Toby Price maintains the overall lead at ‪#‎dakar2016‬ by over 23 minutes after taking 3rd for Stage 10.

Stefan Svitko, a privateer KTM rider who is participating in the Dakar for the seventh time, earned bragging rights by claiming victory in one of the toughest stages in the 2016 edition. Svitko sits 2nd behind Price in the overall standings.

Price’s Red Bull KTM Factory teammate Antoine Meo continues the consistent run in his maiden Dakar, coming home 5th for the Stage and is currently snapping at the heels of the podium in 4th overall.

KTM’s Laia Sanz had a tough day, as issues with a radiator made it difficult for her to maintain the pace of the front runners. She sits in 17th for the overall standings and although unhappy with her result, we reckon she is a pretty inspiring young lady!

Toby Price – “It was a key stage. I took it easy because my motorcycle struggled in the heat yesterday. I also focused on navigating. Two chaps came from behind and caught up with me, but I can’t complain, it was a good stage. I can ride a bit more defensively now, no need to attack to gain time like I did yesterday. I’ve got some margin, but no guarantee. Anything can happen, I’ve got to continue working. I must avoid any mistakes or missing waypoints. What’s important is to be in good shape and ready to kick it up a notch if necessary.”
