2020 NZ QUEENS OF DIRT – IT’S A GIRL GANG!

posted in: Blog, Events | 0

If you loved Rise of The Queens 2019, then you don’t want to miss this one. Queens of Dirt is back in 2020 with – It’s A Girl Gang (4-5 April)!

We took your feedback and have upped the ante this year! Good vibes, high energy and great people will join forces to make this a weekend not to be missed on every female’s dirt biking calendar.

Thanks to our major sponsor’s KTM New Zealand and Fox New Zealand! Without you this event wouldn’t be possible! Another massive thanks to our other amazing sponsors Workshop Graphics and Thundercross Valley Dirt Bike Park.

Queens of Dirt will host approximately 200 females for a weekend to ride bikes and most importantly have fun!

Picture this… 200 smiling Queens shredding on bikes, eating ice cream, chilling in the sun, partying the night down and doing it all again the next day. Sounds like a winner to us!

THE DAY (S)

Queens Of Dirt will host a two-day trail ride at Burt’s Farm, Mimiha Rd, Matata. We will offer several loops (opening at various times over the weekend) catering for all riding abilities. These will be made up of forestry and farm trails.

On arrival Queens will receive a special gift bag packed with goodies along with a Queens Of Dirt event branded tee (our designs change each year for our major event – start collecting!!). You will be asked for your tee size as you go through the registration process.

Our trademark Moto Ice Cream Team Relay sponsored by Thundercross will be without a doubt a highlight of the weekend. We really aren’t sure if there is anything better than dirt bikes and ice cream…. it’s a winning combo!

We will have a manned KTM demo bike fleet available for participants to try The Ride Orange Experience.

We will have a food truck on site for the weekend and a chill out lounge for Queens to relax in while they aren’t riding.

And of course, our amazing photographer Phil from Clmintiepix will be on board all weekend capturing those rad images of both the day and the evening of every one of our female riders.

COACHING WITH JEMMA WILSON

Some of you got a taste for coaching last year with the amazing Jemma Wilson from Australia. We had such good feedback that we have decided to bring her back again this year. Half day (3 hour) coaching clinics will be available as a paid extra for those Queens who would like some extra support with their riding skills.

Jemma is an ex-professional off-road motorcycle racer who competed Nationally and Internationally for over ten years. Jemma won eight State Championships, four Australian Off-road Championships, five Women’s World Cup Team Championships and competed in the World Enduro GP’s as a privateer for five seasons. Jemma is a Level Two Coach, the highest level that can be obtained in Australia. “Coaching is something that I personally enjoy doing; seeing the improvements made by someone after just one session in unbelievable”.

What is covered in a typical session: Standing position, braking, flat corners, berms, corner entry, line selection, logs, intro into hill climbs.

If you would like coaching, please ensure you select the correct ticket. You will be asked questions about your riding skill level as you go through the registration process. This will help us to put you into a group that is a similar level to you.

Note: you will be allocated a session time based once registrations close. You will receive this at sign on Saturday morning.

Limited sessions are available so don’t dilly-dally on this opportunity – book today! Group size 10-15 (max)

Check out Jemma’s website for more info about her – www.jemmawilson.com.au

THE EVENING

Day one will be topped off with a social function in the evening (Club Mount Maunganui, 45 Kawaka Street, Mount Maunganui). Riders will kick off their boots and get dolled up for a parrrrty!

After indulging in a simple buffet dinner and drink of choice (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) we will get the party started.

Our DJ will pump the beats so we can cut some shapes on the D-floor!

Of course, we can’t forget the awards ceremony for our trade mark moto ice cream relay and the draw for a few major spot prizes throughout the evening also.

Dress code: Smart casual (think jeans, Girl Gang tee, heels and a spot of lippy… BUT if you want to use this as an excuse to wear a dress – go for it!)

IMPORTANT TO NOTE

No quads or side by sides (two-wheel bikes only), no dogs. Boots and helmets compulsory. Females only (sorry dudes). 12 years +. No refunds.

Registration closes 8th March 2020 – Don’t wait. Get in quick to make sure you don’t miss out!
