RIDER STORY: AN ORANGE CHRISTMAS

posted in: KTM Rider Stories | 0

Meet the Teed boys.  Tom, Ben and Harry – and their brand new MY17 KTM EXC’s that were under the tree on Christmas morning.

Yep – Christmas 2016 was an event to remember in the Teed household, with Mum Kylie and Dad Josh kickstarting the morning with KTM “READY TO RACE” books under the tree that led three excited boys to three brand new EXC’s – a 250 EXC-F and two 125 XC-W’s.

We caught up with the Teed boys to find out how much they love their new EXC’s – and Mum and Dad – after an awesome Orange Christmas!

So boys, three brand spanking new 2017 Orange weapons under the tree. How did it go down on Christmas morning?
They weren’t actually under the tree. We opened up the radiator guards for KTM’s first and then we were a bit confused but knew what was up. Then opened up the manuals for the bikes. They had them hidden in the truck so we quickly ran down and opened it up and there they where.

Were you surprised?
Yeah we had no idea. But we had been asking for them for ages.

What do you think of the new KTM’s so far?
Awesome !!! Such good power and nice to ride and really lite.

What is your favourite part of enduro riding?
Good riding time and the tracks always change and it usually a fresh track. And of course riding with our mates.

What’s your favourite riding story?

Harry – Aimlessly riding through the bush with mates trying to send the hardest hills, logs and rocks.

Tom – battling with Ben for the whole 3 hours of the pony express doing Iron Man last year and getting the win in the last lap.

Three boys – with twins in the mix – mean things must get pretty competitive around the house. What’s Mum’s punishment when you push her too far?
No real punishment maybe a few jobs around the yard.  Ed Note – Hmmmm, Kylie might not think the same ? 😉

So Kylie – what’s it like having a household full of moto-mad boys?

That is our life! The boys have been riding since they were about 3 or 4 years old.  Mainly Dalby Moto Trail Rides, as we loved going away camping as a family with friends and meeting new people.

The Boys used to ride all the open loops with their Dad Josh on a TTR90 and KLX110! People used to think Josh was mad, as it would take them all day to do one lap, but they all loved it.

We really like the Enduro racing scene in QLD. It’s a really friendly atmosphere and we have met some awesome people along the way.

Riding Enduro is also great for the boys – it has kept them busy and taught them how to maintain their own bikes.  However it does breed some competitiveness in the house, Tom and Ben are always trying to outdo each other!

A big thank you to the Teed family for sharing their story. And we reckon Kylie and Josh have the right idea when it comes to Christmas presents 🙂 #KTM #ORANGEFAMILY
